ELK TO CELEBRATE 123RD SAINT PATRICK’S PARTY
The annual Saint Patrick’s Party in Elk sponsored by the Elk Altar Society is drawing near. Saturday, March 12 will be the day of the gala event.

The festivities begin at the Blessed Sacrament Church at 12:30pm to Matthew Tyson singing Irish ballads followed by Mass at 1:00pm.

The party then proceeds to the Greenwood Community Center where a dinner of steaming mounds of corned beef and cabbage plus all the trimmings will be served from 3pm – 8pm. Price of dinner for adults is $18 and $6 for children under 12. Dinner price includes the dance; Price of dance only is $10.

Door prizes will be awarded throughout dinner to the delight of diners and the grand raffle drawing will take place at 10pm. Folks may bid on numerous splendid silent auction items donated by generous locals throughout the day until 8pm.

Following the meal, tables and chairs will be put away to prepare the floor for dancing which commences at 9pm. This year the dance will be absolutely awesome and you won’t want to miss it! Steven Bates along with Jeffrey Walsh, Jon Faurot and Ralph Humphrey will give you every reason to get up and dance – or just listen if you prefer. This dance will prove a truly memorable experience for all who attend.

Come join us in Elk and be part of the Saint Patrick’s tradition. Proceeds from the event are used for outreach (e.g., food from the Elk Store or lodging at a local inn for travelers in need, scholarships for graduating seniors from Elk, donations to the Food Bank, Hospice, Hospitality House, and Elk Volunteer Fire Department, as well as maintenance and restoration of the historic Blessed Sacrament Church and rectory.)
